Canada's Maple Leaf Marinas Acquires Three Ontario Marinas

Maple Leaf Marinas of Midland, Ontario, Canada, has announced the acquisitions of Baysville Marina on Lake of Bays, Wawautosa Trading Post & Marina on Six Mile Lake, and Huntsville Marine on Fairy Lake.

The three facilities bring the Maple Leaf Marinas portfolio to 15 locations, serving more than 6,000 customers, and maintaining the company's position as Canada's largest owner and operator of freshwater marinas.

The acquisition of Huntsville Marine comes with several boat lines, including Princecraft and Monterey.

“The addition of these three facilities will further strengthen the company’s business model which is based primarily on dockage, storage and service," said Derek Lubert, senior vice president. "These Marinas are 100% occupied, and have been serving a cottager customer base for over 4 decades. We plan on continuing, and improving on that customer experience.”

The company also acquired 2.5-acres of vacant “marine commercial” lands located directly beside its Walkers Point Marina facility on Lake Muskoka. Walkers Point is home to the company’s flagship Cobalt dealership.

Steve Tait, vice president, said that “The expansion at Walkers Point will include additional docks, dry stack racks and much needed parking spaces. We hope to begin construction later this summer with a Grand Opening slated for the spring of 2023.”
